Editorial Policy

Clear standards for how SheFront publishes, protects its community and operates the platform.

Last updated: 15 August 2026

Our editorial purpose

SheFront exists to put women’s voices, experiences and leadership at the centre of public conversation. We publish reporting, explainers, interviews, commentary, personal essays and community contributions.

Our goal is to make every published story useful, respectful and clear about what it is: reporting, analysis, opinion, lived experience or sponsored content.

Accuracy and verification

Writers and editors should take reasonable steps to verify factual claims before publication. News and reporting should use credible sources and include source links where appropriate.

When a story is based on lived experience or opinion, we do not present personal experience as universal fact. Editors may ask contributors for clarification, supporting material or changes before approval.

Contributor review

Community submissions are not automatically published. A submission may move through review, changes requested or fact-check stages before an editor approves it.

Editors may decline content that is misleading, unsafe, discriminatory, unlawfully obtained, plagiarised, promotional without disclosure, or inconsistent with SheFront’s editorial standards.

Health and sensitive topics

Health content is intended for education and awareness. It should not be presented as a substitute for individual diagnosis or emergency care.

For stories involving violence, sexual harm, children, medical details or other highly sensitive experiences, editors may reduce identifying details or request additional consent and context.

Independence and conflicts

Editorial decisions should not be purchased. Advertising and sponsored placements are clearly labelled and are separate from normal editorial review.

Writers should disclose material relationships or conflicts that could reasonably affect how readers understand a story.

Artificial intelligence

Contributors should disclose meaningful use of generative artificial intelligence when required by the submission form or editorial team. AI-generated material does not remove the writer’s responsibility for accuracy, originality and rights.

Corrections and updates

If we identify a meaningful factual error, we aim to correct it promptly. Significant updates may be reflected in the story or through an editorial note where appropriate.

To raise an accuracy concern, contact SheFront through the Contact page and include the story title, link and the specific issue.

Editorial decisions

SheFront retains editorial discretion over headlines, formatting, length, images, publication timing, categorisation and whether a submission is published, returned for changes or declined.
